Andrea Zuill Bio Much of my recent work deals with how people perceive themselves and how humans fit into the world. It sometimes seems that we have forgotten how to live with the natural world. The most
obvious example for me is how people don’t understand how to live with animals. To us they are either a pest, a spiritual representative of nature or adorable playthings.
Embroidery and fabric are important personal symbols for me. By using these mediums I throw myself into the dialog of symbols in this art. Stitching, thread and fabric reminds me of my family, my mother and my heritage. It also gives me a connection with all women (and men) whom picked up the needle. By creating these pieces with embroidery and fabric I am confessing at being guilty of not
knowing where I fit into nature.
