Follies examines the trajectory of anticipation, consumption, & consequence. Like an illusive craving, the colors and forms in Dell’s newest serigraphs shift in place, causing the edges to pulse and the differences in hue to be sometimes indiscernible. Vision and perception both lack certainty; the work cues pleasure but also questions motivation. What is tempting in one moment can become the hallmark of a bad idea in the next. Like a merry-go-round that spins too quickly, or the hasty consumption of an extra piece of birthday cake, Follies penetrates self-control and lingers in the viscera.
