New drawings, collage, and print media rework imagery and symbols in ways that are both humorous and sensitively evaluative. Selecting objects or images that are deceptively simple, and thinking about what that object or image could actually represent is a common goal. Ashley illustrates objects that have significance to her from personal experience or memory. She removes her narrative and presents these objects to the viewer. This decontextualization allows the viewer to consider or re-consider their relationship to these objects or images.
