Galleri Urbane, established in 1999, represents emerging and established artists living in the United States, with the primary focus on artists whose work reflects current art movements both national and internationally. These artists are represented in museums as well as public and private collections throughout the United States and abroad. The artists work in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, mixed media, photography, and conceptual. Amongst these ranks are the artists such Michael Berman, Theo Wujcik, Kate Carr, and Jessica Drenk. Director and owner, Ree Willaford's focus in art, is to bring FRESH ideas to the collector, in medium and content. "Art for the emerging collector, and for the established collector ready for a change." Galleri Urbane was established in 1999 in New Mexico. In 2002/2003, owner Ree Willaford was drawn to the open skies and the art scene in Marfa, Texas and the presence of the Judd, the Chinati Foundation, and Ballroom Marfa. She opened two consecutive "POP UP" exhibits during Chinati Open House weekend. In 2004, Galleri Urbane officially relocated to Marfa, Texas from New Mexico.  In 2009 gallery expanded to Dallas, Texas. Prior to opening the gallery owner Ree Willaford, a native Californian, worked in Los Angeles, California, as a visual merchandising coordinator, designer, and marketing executive. The position included acquiring and placing fine art for corporate collections.
