Skeletons

These are drawings on monochrome layers of enamel paint. The element of line is pared down to create minimal compositions of balance and contrast using markers and oil paint. The content is chosen from images that I find on the internet or take pictures of. I am drawn to images of the abandoned, the mundane, and overlooked; images that can be stripped of detail and remain recognizable and familiar, skeletons of reality. The lines were made with focus and deliberation yet show signs of naked imperfection, achieving a tenuous existential equilibrium.
